Build your first soundscape in Oasis.
Start with a sound you enjoy. Listen to it on its own, then bring in a second one. You do not need a complicated recipe: a few small adjustments can give your background the presence you want.
1. Choose your first sound
With active Oasis access, open the mixer and choose rain. Start playback. Keep the iPhone’s overall volume comfortable, then adjust the individual sound slider in Oasis. The video demonstrates this gesture with wind. Other sounds work the same way.
2. Bring in a little wind
Add wind while the rain keeps playing. Start quietly and increase its level until you can hear it in the mix. Lower it again if you prefer the rain to stay in front. There is no perfect percentage that works for every pair of headphones or every room.
3. Try birds, or keep it simple
Add birds if you want a livelier background. Listen for a moment, then compare the mix with and without them. For reading or work, you might prefer fewer sounds. Removing one does not mean starting the whole mix again.
4. Move a sound around you
Open a sound’s placement control and move it. With stereo headphones, listen to how its position changes in relation to the others. Adjust its volume again if needed. You may prefer a sound slightly off to one side instead of several sources in the same spot.
5. Put the phone down
When the mix feels right, leave it playing. Choose a timer to plan when playback stops. You can save this composition in Oasis and return to it on your iPhone. Full access is available with a subscription or the lifetime purchase.
6. Get ready to listen offline
Download rain, wind and birds fully if you plan to use them without a connection. Check their status in Downloads, then try playback in airplane mode before leaving. Personal soundscapes stay on the device where you saved them.

How many sounds should I mix?
Start with one or two. Add another only if you enjoy what it brings. Your soundscape does not have to fill every gap.
Does this first mix require paid access?
The mixer, full library and personal soundscape saving are available with an active Oasis subscription or the Oasis Infinite lifetime purchase.
Do I need headphones?
The sounds also play through the iPhone speaker. Stereo headphones make each source’s position easier to hear.
